Cooler Master Mystique 632 Black

Conclusions:

Having installed a high-end system and used the Cooler Master Mystique 632 for over two weeks, there are a few issues we have with an otherwise good chassis. The issues that we encountered are related to the type of system that we have installed in the case and are unlikely to be as much of a problem with a less exotic system installed.

The lack of airflow in the area surrounding the video cards highlights a big weak point in the Mystique 632's design. Had Cooler Master given end users the option to install a case fan in the side panel, we are sure that the problems we encountered would have gone away. With that said, it is possible to do a little bit of modding and install a case fan in the side panel because Cooler Master has included some vents - the only thing lacking here are some mounting holes.

We have also run a pair of GeForce 7900 GTX video cards in the system and while we didn't encounter the same tearing issues that were apparent with a pair of GeForce 7950 GX2's installed, the cards were noticeably warmer than what we are used to. We didn't test a pair of Radeon X1900's in CrossFire in the case, but since they run hotter than a pair of GeForce 7900 GTX's, you may encounter similar problems to those that we had with the GeForce 7950 GX2's. We also tested a single GeForce 7950 GX2, and didn't encounter any heat related problems.

Aside from the heat-related issues we have outlined, the case is well built and looks great if you like case with doors. Despite the lack of a motherboard tray, installation was a breeze - there is enough space to manage cables effectively. It's built in typical Cooler Master fashion and there would be very little to fault had we not encounted problems with over heating video cards.

Price: The Mystique 632 isn't available just yet, but we are told that it is expected to cost around £90 including VAT and delivery. The price is about the same price as a Cooler Master Wave Master, and it comes with an arguably better feature set. Thus we would say that the case is pretty good value.

Final Thoughts...

Cooler Master's Mystique 632 is a generally good and well-designed case, with only one major downside. If you're someone that is considering high end multi-GPU setups, we would recommend looking at another case because you may encounter some over-heating problems during prolonged use. However, it should suffice if you only use a single video card. The look is simple and effective but may not be to everyone's taste.
